Embracing Best Practices
Keppel Land has been a member of Singapore Compact since the latter was formed in 2005. Singapore Compact serves as a national platform for fostering dialogue and collaboration on corporate social responsibility and is a participant of the United Nations Global Compact.

In addition, Keppel Land is also one of the founding and charter members of the Investor Relations Professionals Association (Singapore), whose objective is to cultivate best practices and enhance the professional standards of investor relations locally.

Keppel Volunteers
Keppel Land is committed to help the less privileged through the Keppel Groupwide volunteer movement, Keppel Volunteers. Believing that charity goes beyond financial contributions, staff continued to volunteer their time and talents at the Group’s adopted charity, the Association of Persons with Special Needs (APSN). To encourage staff to participate in Keppel Volunteers’ activities, staff are given two days of volunteerism leave each year.

Monthly outreach events are organised by Keppel Volunteers for the students from APSN, and well-participated by Keppel Land staff. On 18 October 2009, a fundraising event was held and employees from across Keppel Group took part in a five-km walkathon together with the APSN students. The walkathon helped raised a total of more than $40,000 for APSN.

The Keppel Scholars Alumni Association and Keppel Volunteers, in collaboration with the Singapore Red Cross Society organised a Groupwide blood donation drive for the second time. Bloodmobiles were set up at Keppel Land’s corporate headquarters at Bugis Junction Towers, to encourage staff participation.

Supporting Arts and Culture
As part of the Group’s ongoing support to the thriving arts scene in Singapore, Keppel Land was the studio programme sponsor for The Huayi-Chinese Festival of the Arts for the fourth consecutive year. The annual Huayi festival celebrates traditional and contemporary Chinese arts by some of the most outstanding Chinese artists.

To promote cultural understanding between the local Dutch expatriate community in Singapore, Saint Nicholas Day was celebrated at the Marina at Keppel Bay on 21 November 2009. Organised by the Hollandse Club, the festive atmosphere at the Marina was heightened with the turnout of a 300-strong crowd.

Providing Education Opportunities
Keppel Land is committed to provide education opportunities through scholarships. The Keppel Land-BCA Built Environment Scholarship is open to students who are keen to embark on an exciting career with one of Asia’s leading developers. To-date, the Company has awarded two scholarships to undergraduates from the National University of Singapore.

Keppel Land is currently sponsoring two students from India to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma at SJI International in Singapore.
