Marina at Keppel Bay - 5 Gold Anchors Award
Marina at Keppel Bay has become the first marina in Asia to be awarded the 5 Gold Anchors rating from the Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA) for excellence in services and facilities.
MIAA is the leading industry association for the marina industry across the Asia Pacific region. It launched the Gold Anchor International Rating Scheme for marinas in 2009 with ratings from 3 to 5 Gold Anchors. They were assessed across nine areas, including marina design and environmental considerations.
Marina at Keppel Bay named Best Asian Marina
Marina at Keppel Bay was recognised as the “Best Asian Marina” on 8 May 2010 at the 6th Asia Boating Awards (formerly the Christofle Asia Boating Awards) held in Hong Kong. The award was achieved midst keen competition from Hong Kong, Thailand and Dubai.
This is the second time Marina at Keppel Bay has won one of the most coveted awards at the Asia Boating Awards. In its debut year in 2008, Marina at Keppel Bay won the title, “Best New Asian Marina/Yacht Club”. In the same year, just three months after its opening in January, it became the only Marina in Asia to be awarded the Clean Marina certification by the Marina Industries Association of Australia.
Marina at Keppel Bay, located at Keppel Bay in Singapore’s southern waterfront, features state-of-the-art concrete pontoons built by international marina experts, Bellingham Marine. When fully completed, the Marina will have capacity for 166 yachts including mega-yachts of up to 250 feet. The Marina has also become the choice venue for international events such as the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race and more recently, Boat Asia, the largest boat show in South East Asia in April.
Clean Marina Award
Marina at Keppel Bay received the Clean Marina Award from the Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA). It is the first and only marina in Asia to be awarded a 'Clean Marina' status under the Clean Marinas Australia Programme, a voluntary accreditation system for marinas, yacht clubs, boat clubs, slips, boatyards and associated industry operators that originated in Australia. This certification reflects the Keppel Group's focus on sustaining the environment and safety, and is testimony that Marina at Keppel Bay has procedures that ensure its readiness in tackling with marine hazards that could potentially impact the environment.
Marina at Keppel Bay lauded for design excellence and safety
Marina at Keppel Bay was accorded the SIA-Hunter Douglas Award 2008 in the completed projects category for its innovative use of Hunter Douglas Luxalon ceiling planks. The planks form the dome’s internal ceiling, creating an almost fl awless curvature, reflecting technical competence and meticulous attention to detail.
The Marina was also the inaugural winner for the PUSH award which honours institutes and associations for their contributions to Singapore as a brand of design excellence. The PUSH Award is organised by the Singapore Design Alliance, a collaboration of eight design-related organisations brought together by Design Singapore Council’s Industry Development Panel.
Marina at Keppel Bay is also the first marina to receive an award at the inaugural National Safety and Security Watch Group (SSWG) Award 2009 in August. The Marina is a member of the HarbourFront SSWG which includes Keppel Bay Tower, VivoCity and Sentosa Island, to name a few.
