Creating Value and Growing Talents
Recognising employees as important
stakeholders, Keppel Land commissioned
human resources specialist William M Mercer
in July 2000, to conduct an extensive staff
survey. This was to gather feedback and
suggestions from executive and support staff
on human resources and corporate matters.
Following this exercise, four task forces were
set up to look further into the areas of
performance management, remuneration
structure, training and career development,
communication and empowerment. Where
appropriate, changes will be implemented to
attract and retain good people.
So far, the Company has reviewed the
compensation and benefits system, and plans
to introduce a more flexible system in the
coming year. This allows staff to select
benefits that meet their needs and forego
others which are less useful to them. The
existing share option scheme has also been
reviewed and has been extended to include
staff at all executive levels.
The Company continues to train and upgrade
the skills of the employees to meet corporate
objectives.
