  • Extending its green efforts, Keppel Land formed an Environment Management Committee, responsible for developing and implementing environmental programmes.

  • Keppel Bay Bridge was named and opened by His Excellency S R Nathan, President of the Republic of Singapore (1).

  • Keppel Land and Bellingham Marina Industries entered into a strategic partnership to develop premier marinas internationally.

February
  • Keppel Land unveiled concept plans for future phases of Saigon Centre to a distinguished group of Singapore and Vietnam delegates led by His Excellency S R Nathan, President of the Republic of Singapore, and Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai.

  March
  • Keppel Land obtained the investment certificate for Riviera Point, a 2,400-unit waterfront residential development in District 7 of HCMC, Vietnam.

April

  • Leveraging its extensive experience in developing world-class waterfront precincts, Keppel Land announced its first integrated residential-cum-marina lifestyle development in Zhongshan, Guangdong Province, China(2).

  • K-REIT Asia's rights issue was successfully closed, raising gross proceeds of $551.7 million to partly refinance a bridging loan, which had been used for the purpose of K-REIT Asia's acquisition of a one-third interest in One Raffles Quay.
May
  • Ocean Financial Centre was the first office development in Singapore's central business district to achieve the Platinum Green Mark Award by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) while Marina Bay Financial Centre (Phase One, Commercial) and Reflections at Keppel Bay both won Gold Awards.

  • Alongside the launch of the Keppel Group's 'Safety Starts with Me' initiative, Keppel Land stepped up its efforts in safety promotion with the Workplace Safety and Health Campaign 2008 held at Reflections at Keppel Bay worksite.

  June
  • Keppel Land acquired another 10-ha site in Shenyang's Shenbei New District, which when combined with the adjacent 24-ha site acquired earlier in August 2007, will house an integrated township development.

  • Sedona Hotels International called for a triple celebration as Hotel Sedona Manado was awarded Indonesia's Leading Resort while Sedona Hotel Yangon and Sedona Hotel Mandalay were nominated 'Myanmar's Leading Hotel' at the World Travel Awards 2008.

  • Keppel Bay became the first waterfront development in Singapore to provide luxury yacht charter services to home owners, as it unveiled a spanking new yacht which was christened The Admiral.
